Description

Tape Measure, Metric mm Scale, 2 m to 5 m | GARANT
For layout and measuring work in the shop and on site, the GARANT tape measure provides a glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide body, automatic tape return, and a compact format for pocket and belt carry. It is a professional tape measure, and its blade carries mm graduation for direct metric readings. Housing dimensions and blade width are listed for each length in the specification table.
Three lengths are available, 2 m, 3 m, and 5 m, so you can match the measuring tape to your working range. The contact surfaces and stop button carry a 2-component Haptoprene coating for a controlled grip. Dampers of special rubber absorb the reaction energy of the returning blade to protect your wrist, which keeps this retractable measuring tape comfortable across a full day of repeated pulls.

Key features:
• Plain bearings with Teflon give the blade smooth action and exceptionally easy running
• Aluminium profile inserted on the underside provides precise standing when you rest the body on a surface
• Anti-glare correction keeps the scale clearly visible under all light conditions
• Accuracy: EG II standard with G1 calibration for documented professional measuring

How does heavy duty tape measure construction pay off across a full shift?
An impact-resistant housing built for daily jobsite knocks, plus damped blade return and a wear-protected scale, is what makes this GARANT model worth its pocket space every day.
Applications: machine and equipment placement, installation work, cutting material to length, jobsite measuring, facility maintenance checks, shop layout.
Industries: construction trades, equipment installation, industrial maintenance, general manufacturing, metalworking.
Users: installers, site supervisors, machinists, maintenance technicians.

Which lines do you count on a tape ruler graduated in mm?
The numbered lines are whole centimeters, and the fine divisions between them are millimeters, so you add the millimeters past the last number you passed. A metric tape measure involves no fractions, so each reading is a direct count rather than an interpretation. This GARANT blade carries mm graduation, which suits metric drawings, imported equipment checks, and any shop that works to millimeter tolerances.

Does a retractable tape measure have to snap back and jar your wrist?
No. Special rubber dampers inside the housing soak up the snap of the returning blade before it reaches your hand, so the tape end settles rather than strikes. Most tapes leave that recoil for you to absorb, while this GARANT design keeps it in the dampers. Hold a long pull partway with the stop button when you want the last stretch under your own control, and this self retracting tape measure keeps the convenience of automatic rewind without the sting.

How long does a metal tape measure blade stay readable?
A blade stays readable for as long as its marked scale resists abrasion, which is usually the first thing to go on a metal tape measure dragged over concrete and steel. On this GARANT tape a special clear lacquer protects the scale against wear, so the graduation stays legible through daily pulls, hooks, and rewinds.
