Resource Conservation

Conserving resources in your planning and production saves energy and costs

How to save energy for the long term

The current global situation is placing challenges on everyone, but especially on industrial companies and small businesses. Energy prices are rising and supply problems have been exacerbated since the start of the Ukraine conflict. What’s more, there is a global shortage of raw materials. This not only means long wait times, but also much higher operating costs. Skyrocketing energy costs, gas prices especially, are a cause for concern. The need to conserve resources and use less energy is growing. But on a tight operating schedule, changes are not always easy to implement. The Hoffmann Group team would like to help you identify and implement simple savings that are right for you. Our approach is three-fold: make existing processes more efficient, use resources more effectively and maintain them for longer.

On this page we will give you an overview of the most important things to consider regarding resource conservation, as well as information on sustainable product solutions, reducing the need for consumables/operating materials, and our services designed to conserve resources, such as our regrinding service. The information will be continuously updated with further details on resource conservation, so it’s worth checking back here regularly.

How can companies react to the increasing energy prices?

According to a survey by the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), almost two-thirds of industrial companies see high electricity costs and gas prices as a threat to Germany’s competitiveness as a business location. This is because many companies are unable to sufficiently pass on price increases to their customers in direct or indirect international competition.
For many industrial companies, the yearly load peaks are an additional factor. These arise when the power consumption in the company fluctuates strongly. They burden the power grid and this is reflected in high supply prices.
Conserving resources also means saving energy. Companies should therefore keep both energy efficiency and existing electricity costs in mind.

What does saving resources have to do with sustainability?

In recent years, sustainability management has developed strongly in industrialised nations. The tool industry, like many other industrial sectors, is still at the start of this process. But with the energy crisis, sustainable measures have also rapidly gained importance in the industrial sector – because it isn’t just about being eco-friendly, it also makes financial sense for companies.

Ensuring you conserve resources when working with raw materials and production materials helps to reduce power consumption and lower costs. You also do something good for the environment – a synergy effect that is definitely worth investing in.
